It has the repetition of a Hollywood movie script: Apple releases a new product. Some in the media and analysts quickly bemoan the new product, saying it didn’t live up to the hype they created.

The Beatles. Now on iTunes
I am profoundly amused that the tech punditocracy has been confounded in its outermost speculation over Apple’s cryptic note about iTunes yesterday (see Boy Genius report, for example). After all the crowing about the margins on 99¢ TV shows, subscription-based iTunes, and implementing the cloud purchased in the Lala.com acquisition, we have what is essentially an organizational and not a technical achievement. Apple Corps and Apple Inc. have finally buried the hatchet and are able to bring us the Fab Four. I think we iTunes junkies are all the richer for it.
