At 12:42 p.m. police reported a parked car with steamed up windows. An officer checked out the vehicle and said the occupants are fine and were moved along.

Just ringing in the New Year a little late, officer.

Nor’easter in Northeastern MA (1/26-1/27/11)

Be careful out there, people. Today’s snow is very heavy. Don’t let the totals fool you. If you have a snowblower, you’ll see what I mean. It’s not sopping wet like those March snows, but it is much more dense than the powder we’ve been having in Northeastern Massachusetts. A snowblower fluffs it back up, not unlike whipping air into egg whites. One of the berms that line my driveway is probably over six feet high right now. I’m just chuckling over the deceptively low yields.

A new use for co-working spaces?

It’s clearly not you, unless you are reading this on a mobile device.

What is it like by you?

If you have trouble using your imagination about what to do in a blizzard, please draw inspiration from this song by Peter Ostroushko (which I heard first on A Prairie Home Companion).

Whumpf!

Just as if it had all fallen at once, there is a boatload of snow to which we in Northeastern Massachusetts awaken to find. A few cars and plows struggle through deep drifts and poor visibility, and the wind is howling. I hope everyone around here has their provisions laid in, and can hunker down.
