Um, no rush bring it back online. It’s fine with me if you want to keep it shut down… for good….
The Seabrook Station nuclear power plant, which shut down Thursday due to low water levels, remains in “safe shutdown condition” today, officials at the New Hampshire plant said.
“There has been no impact to safety – this is a mechanical situation,” said Alan Griffith, a Seabrook spokesman.
The company is planning to do a full investigation into the shutdown, Griffith said. Company officials are not sure when the plant will be running again.
The plant automatically shut down at 12:27 p.m. Thursday due to a low level of water in the steam generator, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission told the Globe.
An NRC spokeswoman said the incident did not pose a threat to public health and safety, and no radioactivity was released.
